If your TV says otherwise, the checklist below fixes 9 out of 10 “Strong 8K down” cases in under five minutes. Still stuck at the end? Support answers on WhatsApp 24/7 and can put a free test line on your device while you wait.
“Is Strong 8K down?” is the question we get most on the support line, and most of the time the answer is no. A real server outage takes every channel and every customer offline at the same time, and it is rare and short. What people usually hit is an expired subscription, an ISP block, an old app or a wrong login. This page tells you how to tell the difference in 60 seconds, then walks through the fixes in the order that solves the most cases first.
Is Strong 8K down right now? The 60-second check
Do these three things before you change any setting:
- Open a movie or series instead of a live channel. If on-demand plays but live TV does not, the live servers are busy or your connection is being throttled. If nothing plays at all, continue.
- Try a second device or a second app. Log in on your phone with mobile data turned on and Wi-Fi off. If it works there, the problem is your home network or your ISP, not Strong 8K.
- Check your expiry date. Open the app’s account or settings screen. “Expired” or “Inactive” looks exactly like an outage on the TV, and it is the single most common cause of a “down” report.
If all three fail, including mobile data on a second device, that is an actual service problem. Message support with your username and the error text; we confirm the status within minutes.
Why Strong 8K looks down when it is not
- Subscription expired. Playback stops the minute the plan ends. Renew here and the same login works again within a few minutes.
- ISP blocking. Some internet providers in the UK, Ireland and parts of Europe block IPTV traffic, especially on weekends when big sport is on. Everything fails on Wi-Fi, everything works on mobile data. A VPN or a DNS change on the router solves it.
- Wrong server address or port. One missing character in the Xtream URL and the app reports “server down”. Copy the details from your activation message again instead of typing them.
- Old app version. Players that have not been updated for a year lose compatibility with the stream format. Update or switch app.
- Too many connections. A one-device plan used on two screens gets kicked off and shows an error that reads like an outage. Close the other device or upgrade to more connections.
Strong 8K not working: 7 fixes, in order
- Restart the app and the device, not just the app. Firesticks and Android boxes cache a broken session until they reboot.
- Restart your router and wait a full minute before reconnecting. This alone clears most “loading” loops.
- Re-enter your login from the activation message. Delete the playlist or profile in the app and add it again with copy and paste.
- Switch the stream format. In IPTV Smarters, TiviMate or IBO Player change the stream type from HLS to MPEG-TS, or the other way round, then reload channels.
- Test on mobile data. Works on 4G/5G, fails on Wi-Fi: your ISP is the problem. Turn on a VPN on the device or set the router DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
- Update or change the app. If your player is a year old, install the current version or try a different one. Our Firestick guide and Samsung and LG Smart TV guide show the apps we test every week.
- Ask for a line check. If six steps did nothing, contact support. We can see whether your line is active, how many devices are connected and whether the server your account sits on has an incident.
Strong 8K EPG not working or guide empty
The programme guide is a separate feed from the channels, so channels can play perfectly while the guide shows “No information”. Fixes:
- In the app, open EPG settings and press Update or Refresh EPG. It can take two to five minutes on a Firestick.
- Check the EPG URL matches the one in your activation message. Some apps strip it when you re-add the playlist.
- Set the EPG time offset to your timezone if programmes show at the wrong hour.
- New accounts: the guide fills in within 24 hours of activation. An empty guide on day one is normal.
- Still empty after 24 hours? Tell support which app you use; the guide source can be reassigned per account.
Strong 8K login not working
- “Invalid credentials”: usually a space copied at the end of the username or password. Paste it into a notes app first, then into the player.
- “Account expired”: the plan has ended. Renewal takes a few minutes and keeps the same username.
- “Max connections reached”: another device is still logged in, often an old box in another room. Close it or move to a multi-device plan.
- Login works on Xtream but not M3U: the M3U URL must contain the same username and password and the correct output format. Ask support for a fresh M3U link.
Buffering, freezing and “loading” loops
Buffering is not an outage; it is the stream arriving slower than it plays. A 4K stream needs a steady 25 Mbps, HD needs about 8. Run a speed test on the same device, switch 4K channels to their HD version when the connection is weak, use an Ethernet cable where you can, and keep the player’s buffer setting at its default. Our Strong8K IPTV review has the full breakdown of what the service looks like on a normal home connection.
Still down after all of this?
Then it is on us to prove it is not the line. Send a message on WhatsApp or email with your username and a photo of the error. Support can move your account to another server, reset the device count or issue a fresh login. If you are comparing providers because your current one is down, we will put a free Strong8K IPTV test on your device first; you only pick a plan once it plays.
Frequently asked questions
Is Strong 8K down today?
As of October 12, 2026 the servers are online. Outages are announced here and on the support line; if you can play on-demand content but not live channels, it is a connection issue, not an outage.
How long does a Strong 8K outage last?
Real incidents are measured in minutes, occasionally an hour, and affect every customer at once. Anything that only affects you is a local problem and fixable with the steps above.
Does my subscription time get lost during an outage?
No. Plans run by calendar date and support extends accounts when an incident is confirmed on our side.
Why does Strong 8K go down on big match nights?
It usually does not; ISPs throttle or block IPTV traffic during major events. Mobile data or a VPN on the device gets around it.
Where do I check the Strong 8K server status?
This page is updated whenever there is an incident. For your individual line, support can check it live.
